Our Eastern & Western Wellness Retreat was inspired by ancient teachings from the eastern as well as western worlds, and utilizes centuries-old healing methods of Ayurveda & Ancient Wisdom. The retreat takes place at Athena Growth & Resilience Institute at the gorgeous Leuenberg Hotel, strategically located in the Swiss countryside.
This weekend retreat is an opportunity for leaders to invest in themselves and to have space to ponder the question of meaningful and purposeful work in their future. The course is based on a blend of well-being (Ayurvedic massages, yoga and more), teachings from ancient wisdom, and elements from MIT’s Business Framework Theory U. This location is a mere one-hour drive from Zürich or twenty minutes from Basel.

During these sessions, you will learn to:

After your time at the Ancient Wisdom sessions, you will know what awareness, perception and intention are. By working with these new capabilities, you will learn about the source of your existence and how to further develop your intuition. You will experience the theory of listening and the technique of journaling, as well as case clinic (from MIT’s Theory-U) and apply them during the retreat. You will be able to eliminate destructive patterns in your life through shamanic drum rituals from Mongolia.
Theory-U is a well-known framework that was developed at MIT and aims at fostering new kinds of leaders. The framework focuses on increasing listening skills and teaches the participants to act from their deepest source in order to materialize the future that is waiting to emerge around them and within their companies. The methods learned will allow for new and innovative perspectives, thinking ‘out of the box’, a boost of creativity as well as for new inputs through novel ways to communicate and collaborate.
Ayurveda is the mother of all healing arts. It is one of the world's oldest sciences with roots in ancient India dating back over 5000 years. Ayurveda and Yoga are considered sister sciences: Ayurveda is the science of life and living well and Yoga is the science of self-realization. Together they bring us into balance with ourselves and nature, offering a pathway to good health and happiness.
In our Ayurveda-focused course, you will balance your health by understanding your body's basic constitution, or dosha. The ancient health science of Ayurveda is built around the five elements of ether, air, fire, water, and earth. The unique combination of these elements come together to make up the doshas, or constitutions - vata, pitta, and kapha. Each dosha has a number of corresponding qualities that are expressed in the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of one’s being.
All of us have some aspects of each dosha, but one or two doshas tend to dominate, informing everything from our digestion to our emotions.
This two-day retreat will include meditation and yoga, educational sessions and workshops, and a multi-step cleanse to aid in the release of toxins. You’ll learn how to take a life-changing, well-rounded approach to your total wellness that will last long after the retreat is over. Ayurveda massage is optional and can be booked separately.

Our stunning natural surroundings are perfect for taking time for yourself and your body to relax deeply and restore your energy. The Institute's peaceful location on top of a mountain creates an ideal setting for deep cleansing. Add to this the tranquil atmosphere of the retreat, and you have a relaxing place to get deep rest.
